In the 90’s, Executive Director Laurie Murison launched the Research Station’s Adopt Right Whales program to help spotlight the whales’ plight as they summered in the Bay and raised their young.

Today, climate change is impacting all species and the ecology of the Bay itself.  Our adoption program has  broadened in response, so that our work can focus on the larger picture of conserving the waters of the Bay itself in the hope of creating a sustainable environment for all of its biological life.
